Press ReleaseAlert Logic Hires Gene Golovinsky as New VP of Research & Development20 Year Engineering Executive Joins Quickly Growing On Demand IT Security Company HOUSTON - SEPTEMBER 12, 2006 - Alert Logic, the only IT network security company leveraging a Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) platform to deliver on-demand protection to mid-sized businesses,today announced the appointment of Gene Golovinsky as the company's new vice president of research and development. Golovinsky brings almost 20 years of technology and management experience to the role, most recently as director of research and development for BMC Software Inc. Golovinsky joins Alert Logic as the company continues to gain national recognition as the only Software as a Service (SaaS) IT security company dedicated exclusively to the needs of mid-sized businesses. Though many IT security vendors are working to re-engineer existing software and appliance products to deliver SaaS products, it is extremely difficult and time-consuming to complete a total re-deign to deliver IT security as a service. Prior to joining BMC, Golovinsky worked in various engineering capacities for LANNET (now a division of AVAYA), BATL Software and the Institute of Automatic Systems in St. Petersburg, Russia. Through his work at these companies, Golovinsky designed a wide range of IT security products and technology formats, including authentication, SSL, message integrity and privacy.
